**NEW DATE - PREVIOUSLY POSTPONED DUE TO WORLD CUP**
I am delighted to announce the second event in the new series I'm running which explores policy in practice:
'The Welfare State We’re In.'
Join us for an evening with food bank charity the Trussell Trust to discuss the impact of Universal Credit and their latest research, policy ideas and impact.
The series is designed to provide an insight into the latest research from leading think tanks and policy in practice on the ground. We will be focusing on welfare provision and the impact of poverty following nearly a decade of austerity and economic insecurity.
Following the success of our first event with Shelter UK where we examined the impact of housing benefits cuts on homelessness, we will hear from the Trussell Trust - a charity which runs the UK’s largest network of over 400 food banks. Their work provides food and support to the 13 million people who live below the poverty line in the UK and provides stability to those struggling the most in modern Britain.
I look forward to welcoming you then.
Best wishes,
Deeba Syed
