The Young Fabians Education Network and John Cruddas MP present a stimulating discussion of values in our education system: Common Values, British Values?
RSVP to Common Values, British Values
In light of the 'Trojan Horse' scandal and Governments 'British Values' agenda, we're bringing together four expert speakers to discuss three key questions:
- Do our students need a set of common (British? English?) values?
- What are these values, or what should they be?
- What does this mean, practically, for our education system and schools?
Panelists include:
Jon Cruddas MP - Former Policy Coordinator, Labour Party
Jeremy Hayward - Lecturer in Citizenship, UCL Institute of Education
Naved Siddiqi - Trustee, New Horizons in British Islam
Michaela Martin - Head of Preparation for Adult Life, Raine's Foundation School
The event will be chaired by Isaac Stanley of the Young Fabians Education Network.
Places are limited. Please RSVP on Eventbrite here.
Join us on Tuesday 22nd March, 18.30 – 20.00 in Committee Room 12, House of Commons for what promises to be a lively debate!
