Municipal waste management is not the most popular area of Local Government policy but it is one of the most important if we are to improve recycling, reduce consumption and mitigate our impact on the environment. If we are to move towards a zero-waste economy it will be local authorities and metropolitan areas that will be leading the charge.

We will be in discussion with Leonie Cooper MLA, Cllr Rachel Blake (Cabinet Member for Strategic Development & Waste in Tower Hamlets) Samantha Heath Chief Executive of the London Sustainability Exchange and will be chaired by Young Fabian Executive Committee Member Ludo Orlando on what London is doing to reduce waste and mitigate our impact on the environment
