We are pleased to announce that Rory Palmer MEP and Seb Dance MEP have confirmed they can provide the Young Fabians 18 subsidised places to visit the EU Parliament before Brexit Day. This could be the last time Brits go for the subsidised tour, making it a bit of history – and this is the chance for you to be part of it.
After our discussion with the MEP’s offices we can confirm the following schedule; departure on Sunday 26th Jan from London to Brussels with an overnight stay there, then a tour of the EU Parliament with Rory Palmer MEP at 2.30pm on Monday 27th Jan, and returning to London in the evening. Only people that can attend the tour will have their trip subsided, so you’ll have to attend the whole schedule in order to go.
The total allowance per person is 165 Euros, broken down to; 65 Euros for Travel, 40 Euros for Food, and 60 Euros for Accommodations. The Young Fabians will cover the initial cost of travel and hotels and be reimbursed to ensure that no one is out of pocket – but people applying should be aware that there could be additional costs.
For those wanting to go, please send up to 150 word pitches to us on: [email protected]
Unfortunately, we (Adam and Hollie) can’t make it so we are looking for two experienced people to lead the trip on Sunday and Monday – please indicate if you would like the opportunity to lead our delegation in your pitch.
If possible, we’d like to find a person who is experienced in driving a minibus as given the limited budget for travel it might be easier to book an 18-seater.
The deadline for pitches will be midday Friday on Jan 17th and we will inform people who have been selected on Sunday Jan 18th afternoon.
