The Young Fabian Policy Research Fellowship offers a rare and exciting opportunity for aspiring policy leaders to engage in cutting-edge policy research and advocacy. Building on the Fabian Society's rich history of thought leadership, this programme is designed to equip successful applicants with the skills, knowledge, and network needed to work in and influence policy development.
Throughout the fellowship, participants will take part in a structured programme that includes in-depth training workshops, mentorship from experienced policymakers and think-tankers, and the chance to develop expertise on a research area of your choice. The fellowship begins with an in-person launch and training day, followed by a series of workshops covering essential skills such as formulating research questions, data analysis and collection, interpreting legal documentation, interviewing subject-matter-experts, and effective policy communication. Applicants are expected to submit a piece of long-form written content based on their research, which will be published by the Young Fabians at an in-person launch in late November or December.
The programme is open to all Young Fabians, although there are limited places. Participants will be chosen based on the quality of their application and their commitment to the scheme. Participants are also expected to be available to attend an in-person training launch on 29th September, though some support for travel arrangements are available.
If you’re passionate about making a difference in the Labour movement and want to hone your policy research skills while working on issues that matter, apply to the Young Fabians Policy Research Fellowship!
If you have questions about the fellowship, contact a member of the Executive Committee.
