Join us very(!) soon for the next Young Fabians Book Club where we’ll be discussing Sally Rooney's infamous best-selling novel Normal People.
Sign up to attend here: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZcoduurqTMiE9xTEHP1dQKygKhAKkwkD9Vl
We'll be discussing this much debated and oft hailed 'modern classic' from 2018 which was recently adapted into a BBC3 series. The book explores social status, class, sex and most importantly love. Come along and tell us if you think the book deserves its praise, what it contributes to the modern literary world and to what extent Rooney's self-proclaimed marxism shines through in the book.
Get reading and let us know! It's a quick and absorbing read so have a go if you can get a e-book copy or order soon.
During this time, it’s really important that we all try and support local independent businesses. In particular, independent bookshops. If possible, we would really encourage you to seek out local independent booksellers. Many are doing a fantastic job of running delivery services even with the limitations of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. If not the book is available to order here: https://www.waterstones.com/book/normal-people/sally-rooney/9780571334650.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
