In order to make a credible, positive impression on those around us and ultimately make a long-lasting impact on our audience, we need to be able to own our space, hold our ground, make ourselves visible and ultimately speak with conviction. These are skills that every woman will require in their bid to take on key leadership roles across political and public life.
This is why the Young Fabians and Fabian Women’s Network Mentoring Scheme have teamed up to bring our female members this excellent, interactive Personal Impact Training Workshop, led by renowned Communications Skills Trainer and specialist, Lisa Akesson.
As part of the Young Fabians' Women in Leadership Series last year, we hosted a range of panels and workshops that provided an opportunity for Young Fabian women to develop those skills necessary for successful leadership in public and political life. This session will be looking at how important the power of communication is in facilitating confident, assertive and empowered communicators.
Lisa Akesson is a Communication Skills Trainer who provides specialist training to women seeking to develop their public presence and speaking skills in the workplace. From running specialist workshops to appearing on Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour, Lisa has a strong track record of skilling-up women to succeed in the top positions of industry.
Perhaps you would like a chance to learn more about those crucial skills that make you an engaging public speaker? Possibly you're keen to enhance your visibility and assertiveness in the workplace? Maybe it's time for the next challenge with a step-up into leadership in your chosen field? Equally, you may want to begin your journey on becoming an effective and inspiring communicator. Whatever your reasons, we'd be delighted if you would join us for this thought-provoking workshop where female members of the Young Fabians will be joined by women from the FWN Mentoring Scheme to hone their communication skills.
