The Young South West Fabians are very happy to host Dan Norris, Labour's candidate for the West of England Metro Mayor, for their launch event. Born and raised in the West, Dan has been an MP for a West of England constituency, as well as a Government Minister in the Department for the Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA).
Dan has an ambitious plan to revitalise the West of England, putting jobs first and making the climate emergency part of revolutionising transport links. Dan's progressive agenda in the West of England combined authority is sorely needed in these times. We are very lucky that he has given us his time to discuss his plans, why the Metro Mayor roles are so important, and how locally elected politicians can have effects on the big pressing needs of our time.
