Join the Young Fabians for an in conversation with Karen Holden and Lily Madigan about the current state of trans rights in the UK, and how we can create a more inclusive policy framework for the trans community. The event will consist of a panel interview with the guests, followed by a Q&A with the online attendees.

Karen Holden is the Managing Director and Founder of the law firm A City Law Firm, and vocal advocate for LGBTQI+ rights in the workplace. She has worked with the Albert Kennedy Trust on creating opportunities for LGBTQI+ led businesses, which earned her an Albert Award, and has defended trans people in high profile discrimination cases.

Lily Madigan is a trans activist and Labour Party campaigner. She was the first openly trans woman to hold the post of women’s officer for a CLP, is the women’s office for Labour Students, and is a vocal advocate for trans rights within the Labour Party. She took legal action against her school for their transphobic arts, and has fought a long battle against online abuse ever since developing a public profile. She was listed as one of Teen Vogue’s ’21 under 21’ in 2018.

Interviewing them will be Carolina Saludes, current Young Fabians Vice-Chair and outgoing podcast producer.
For those unable to join on Thursday, the event will be recorded and uploaded to Youtube and the YF Podcast.
