In recent years, knife crime has reached record highs, and affected young people most of all.

In this event, an expert panel will explore how to tackle knife crime through a public health approach and community policing, as well as how to tackle the causes of knife crime. They'll also consider why a Labour Police & Crime Commissioner (PCC) was able to reduce knife crime in Nottinghamshire, and discuss what we can learn from this across the Midlands and the rest of Britain. After their talks you'll have the chance to ask questions and share your ideas.

Our speakers will include:

  • Paddy Tipping, PCC for Nottinghamshire 2012-2021
  • Taiwo Owatemi MP, MP for Coventry North West and Shadow Minister for Women & Equalities
  • Unmesh Desai AM, Labour's London Assembly Spokesperson on Police & Crime
