On 9 June, the Young Fabians Devolution & Local Government Policy Network and West Midlands Young Fabians are proud to present Labour in Power: Socialism with Brummie Characteristics.
Birmingham is the biggest unitary local authority in the country: and that is why we are excited to be joined by key players of Birmingham’s Labour leadership to discuss the strides they’ve made. From the Birmingham Business Charter for Social Responsibility to the Birmingham Municipal Housing Trust, the biggest local authority housebuilder in the country, there's much to celebrate. And of course, we’ll have a keen eye to 2022, where the city is braced for its second set of all-out elections.
Our speakers will be:
🏛️ Cllr Brigid Jones, Deputy Leader of Birmingham City Council
🏛️ Cllr Sharon Thompson, Cabinet Member for Homes and Neighborhoods
🏛️ Cllr John Cotton, Cabinet Member for Social Inclusion, Community Safety and Equalities
