Join the Young Fabians International Network for our second event – a lecture from green entrepreneur Yosef Abramowitz at the Israeli embassy in London on Thursday 2nd July on green energy and how it can improve the lives of the poorest people on the planet, with a particular case study focusing on Rwanda as well as segments on solar energy in Israel itself as well as the challenges of politics and regulation. The lecture will conclude with remarks on the Paris meetings and some realistic universal goals.
Yosef Abramowitz is an Israeli-American human rights activist, educator and entrepreneur and President and CEO of Energiya Global Capital, an impact investment platform that advances the environmental and humanitarian goals of providing affordable green power to under-served populations. Abramowitz was named by CNN as one of the six top global “Green Pioneers,” by PV Tech as one of the world’s most inspiring solar CEOs and by the Israel National Business and Energy Conference as “Person of the Year.” In addition his international company Gigawatt Global has received a nomination for the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize for its solar project in Rwanda.
The event will begin with a welcoming reception at 7pm before the lecture begins at 7.30. Please note that the Israeli embassy is a secure building. Members wishing to attend the lecture must have registered no later than Thursday 25th June – there will be absolutely no admittance on the day. In addition the following security procedures will be in place:
- You will be required to show photographic ID (passport or driving license) upon entry.
- Mobile phones will be retained by security staff at the entrance and returned when leaving.
- No other electronic devices (laptops, tablets, kindles etc) will be allowed into the embassy.
- There is also no left-luggage area in the embassy. Please do not bring large or bulky bags as you will be denied entry.
