Since the Young Fabians were founded by Dick Leonard in 1960, we have been a hotbed of political activity and thought which has trained generations of policymakers and politicians on the left. Following his sad passing in 2021, we thought long and hard about how best to commemorate his legacy and the values which he held. In this vein, we have launched the Dick Leonard Memorial Lecture where we will invite one former or current world leader on the left to address the Young Fabians and our supporters about the challenges we face and how we can overcome them.
This year, we are honoured to welcome as our esteemed guest, former Greek Prime Minister and former President of the Socialist International George Papandreou who will talk about his achievements in government, internationalism and the work of Socialist International, and how PASOK are undergoing a revival of fortunes in Greece.
