Mary joined the House of Lords in 1998 and is currently serving as vice-chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Equality Group. She is a vocal campaigner for the rights of women and children internationally. Her work has included advocating for an end to human trafficking at the UN and promoting the role of women and children in the global economy at the G8 and G20.
