Please join us for our next event of the Young Fabians 'The Future of Work' project. This project focuses on a number of areas from low-paid jobs and the fourth industrial revolution, to reconciling strong trade unions with smaller workplaces.
This event will be in conversation with Ashwin Kumar, Ashwin is the Chief Economist of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation and a board member of the National Housing Federation and the homelessness charity St Mungo's Broadway. He has previously worked as the director of Liverpool Economics, an economic adviser to Gordon Brown, as Rail Passenger Director at Passenger Focus, the consumer watchdog for rail and bus passengers, a Senior Economic Adviser at the Department for Work and Pensions, and a board member of the New Charter Housing Trust Group.
The event will focus on the skills gap in the UK and what policies can be introduced to give low paid workers the transferable skills required in the fourth industrial revolution. The event will contribute to the policy pamphlet that is being compiled on the future of work and how the centre-left responds.
