The Young Fabians' Ideas Series project on capitalism and socialism is launching with a discussion forum on 13 May.
We will be joined by Patrick Diamond who will share his thoughts on developing a political economy for the left in the 21st century. Patrick is vice-chair of Policy Network, lecturer in public policy at Queen Mary, University of London, and a former Downing Street special adviser.
Over the coming months we'll be exploring the big economic questions confronting the left, producing a series of articles, blog posts and a contribution to a Fabian Society pamphlet ahead of the general election setting out a vision for a fairer economy. We're inviting all Young Fabians to help us.
We hope as many people as possible will join us at our launch events to contribute their thoughts on what the key economic issues are for young people, and for the country at large - consumerism, wealth and opportunity, employment, redistribution, or anything else members suggest we explore. This is your opportunity to identify the big issues for Labour's economic philosophy.
