Join us for our first steering meeting this month as the newly formed Home Affairs Network!
Do you want to engage with the biggest domestic challenges facing Britain today? We are a new network and we want your input. Our main themes for this year include: Crime and Punishment, Government modernisation and what it means to be a ‘Leftie’ in Britain now. But there still is space for you to take up on other topics – terrorism, identity and communities in Britain, and of course, the biggest political challenge facing our generation: Brexit.
At this meeting you can stand for a role on the network steering group. The roles available include:
Communications officer – being the interface between the network and the public. Push the Network’s efforts across the media and collaborating with our Fabian colleagues to join up our work in the political ecosystem.
Policy and Research Officer – researching on potential speakers for events, researching and helping form policy thinking on upcoming policy pamphlets.
If you wish to stand as a candidate, please observe the following:
1. All candidates must be a current Young Fabian member to stand in a network election.
2. The deadline for 250-word written applications is on 28 March close of play (please send to [email protected]). Otherwise, you can self-nominate on the day.
3. Audio link will be available for candidates living outside of London - please notify us in advance of the meeting.
We're looking forward to seeing you there!
