Join us on Zoom for a conversation and podcast recording of the Anaïs Nin's 'A Spy in the House of Love'
We had planned to do a less frequent book club this year, but as the situation with coronavirus has changed all of our lives for the time being we've decided to do even more! We'll be reading a range of (fairly) short books and e-meeting regularly to discuss them and record for the podcast as usual.
This book is only 119 pages and you can buy it for kindle (£2.99) here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/House-Love-Penguin-Modern-Classics-ebook/dp/B002RI9XCY/ref=sr_1_1?crid=37LO2N1AGSRKH&keywords=a+spy+in+the+house+of+love&qid=1585518152&sprefix=a+spy+in+t%2Caps%2C143&sr=8-1

About the book:
Set in 1950's New York, beautiful, bored and bourgeoise Sabina leads a double life inspired by her relentless desire for brief encounters with near-strangers. Fired into faithlessness by a desperate longing for sexual fulfilment, she weaves a sensual web of deceit across New York. But when the secrecy of her affairs becomes too much to bear, Sabina makes a late night phone-call to a stranger from a bar, and begins a confession that captivates the unknown man and soon inspires him to seek her out.
We will have a conversation about the book and what we think of it. Then feel free to go, or stay in the call for a post-book club (virtual) pub chat.
