The Young Fabians would like to invite you to a reception to celebrate the publication of 'A History of British Prime Ministers: Walpole to Cameron' by Dick Leonard. 

Dick Leonard is a historian, journalist, author and a former Labour MP. For many years, he was Assistant Editor of The Economist and headed their office in Brussels, where he was later also correspondent at The Observer. He worked for the BBC and was the former Deputy General Secretary, and Chairman, of the Fabian Society. He was instrumental in the founding of the Young Fabians having convened and chaired the inaugural meeting of the Young Fabians in 1960. 

We will be hosted by the European Council on Foreign Relations, located on the 7th Floor, Kings building at 16 Smith Square SW1 (5 minutes' walk from the House of Commons). Entry opens at 6 pm, and we will be joined by Keir Starmer MP, the former Director of Public Prosecutions, who will be speaking around 6.30 and Dick Leonard will briefly respond.

Admission will be free, wine and soft drinks will also be available, and there will be an opportunity for members to buy copies of the book at half price £10.00. If you wish to attend you will need to RSVP by sending an e-mail to [email protected] with 'A History of British Prime Ministers Reception' as the subject line. Include your full name and please write 'YF' after your name when you register. The deadline for RSVP is 5 pm 25th January.
