Anticipations Contributions

If you would like to contribute to the next edition of anticipations please contact Alex Baker via This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Alex has no reliable team of editors, so if you are interested in contributing an article or helping with the editing and layout of the next edition, please get in touch. It is best that you do this before you start writing in case somebody else has already approached Alex with a similar subject.

Articles
Each issue is based on a theme (recent editions have focused on ‘Britain’s place in the world’ and ‘Equality’, for instance) and submissions are invited which relate to this theme. We also carry articles on other topics of relevance, so don’t be put off writing if you have an idea which doesn’t fit into the theme of the next issue.

Articles are typically printed on a single page, or over a two page spread. A single page article is no less than 800 words, whilst a double page spread is no less than 1700 words. These should be seen as minimum word limits, not maximums. Articles which are too short will be rejected.

Letters/Responses to other authors’ articles
If you wish to respond to an article in Anticipations, but do not wish to write a full article, then please submit a letter to the editor or an article response of no more than 300-400 words.

Editorial Guidelines
Articles should be of relevance to our membership. We reserve the right to reject articles which are not worthy of consideration.

We recommend authors write articles with one central theme or point, using facts and statistics in support where appropriate.

Articles are typically edited for reasons of length, although might be edited for style. We reserve the right to reject articles which do not meet the high quality of Fabian Society publications.

If you write on behalf of an organisation you work for, we prefer to print this information alongside your article. If, however, you are writing in a personal capacity we are happy to make this clear to our readership.
