2011 Policy Commissions: Labour and the World |
|

Labour and the World
Chair: Debbie Moss
This group will aim to explore Labour's contribution to global affairs. As Labour renews its approach to foreign policy we should argue that the values which define our party at home should also define our international agenda. Solidarity with those in greatest need and the need to protect those who are vulnerable and suffering are traditional Labour values which we apply at home and should apply abroad. These are the cornerstone of our movement. They define our approach to all policy areas and separate us from our opponents.
The specific areas which we propose to investigate are:
- The Olympics: Learning the lessons of Beijing
- Britain in Europe: the way of the future
- The Arab uprisings: time for a revolution in Western foreign policy?
