Vincenzo Rampulla
Policy and Evaluation Officer
This year I will be leading the Young Fabians’ policy develop programme which will see member-led policy groups tackling key domestic and international policy challenges facing the country. Our policy development work brings members into direct contact with policy experts, opinion formers, interest groups and politicians eager to find better solutions to the problems we face. The work of previous years’ has provided influential contributions to the left’s policy thinking. As part of this work I will be focusing on:
• Regular member research: using regular member surveys to tap into the wider membership’s policy views;
• Providing more membership interaction: ensuring more opportunities for members from around the country to interact and contribute to the policy output of the Young Fabians;
• Policy that influences: Ensuring more people hear about our policy wok during the year and that our work informs decision makers nationally.
Despite originally wanting to be a Physicist and studying it at Oxford, I now work in policy and communications for a membership organisation within the housing industry. I have previously worked in Government departments, as well as the private sector. Outside of work I am a senior volunteer with Crisis, the homelessness charity, and a trustee of Birkbeck student union, where I took a second degree in Politics, Philosophy and History. I am also Chair of Westminster North Labour Party. But I still manage to get to gigs, the cinema and generally have a life.
