- 1st August 2010 - PDGs North West. Young Fabians and Manchester Young Labour teamed up to hold a policy development group meeting in Manchester to discuss: debate and policy making; local party organisation; and, diversity and equality.
- 24th August - Online meeting to look at the key ideas for party reform that the group want to recommend and/or implement.
- 8th Sep - the group was be joined by Jamie Audsley, a community organiser from London Citizens.
Chair: Jessica Studdert
Jessica Studdert is political adviser to the Labour Group at the Local Government Association. She was Events Director and Researcher at the Fabian Society and has also worked in policy for the voluntary sector, campaigning for better childcare services and for more provision for the homeless. She has also volunteered for the Citizen’s Advice Bureau. Jessica has co-authored two pamphlets in the area of Labour Party reform and campaigning: Facing Out: How politics must change to build a progressive society (Fabian Society) and Challenging the BNP (LGA Labour Group).
Jessica stood as a council candidate for the Labour Party for St Mary’s Park ward, Wandsworth, at the 2010 local elections. She has participated in many local and national election campaigns, and the Obama 08 US presidential campaign as part of the Young Fabian delegation to Ohio. She is currently Secretary of Battersea Labour Party.
