The Economy and Prosperity looked at the Government’s response to the global financial crisis and how to limit its damage to Labour’s strong record on the economy. In particular it focused on the impact the downturn will have on young people.
Chaired by Nirmalee Wanduragala
Nirmalee works at the New Local Government Network (NLGN) as Council Networks Manager. She is responsible for the Innovation Network and the Mayoral Forum, working closely with partner councils and elected mayors’ offices.
Prior to working at NLGN, she worked in Parliament, gaining particular expertise and knowledge in the areas of health, local transport and housing. She has also spent some time in the European Parliament and holds a MA in European Politics from the University of Leeds.
Nirmalee also helped coordiante the LSN/Young Fabian campaign trip to America during the Presidential election in 2008.
