Marie grew up in Germany and moved to the UK about three years ago. She has studied in Germany and France and holds a Masters Degree in Sociology from the University of Muenster. Before starting her current role as a Parliamentary Researcher to the Rt Hon Patricia Hewitt MP, she was a Project Assistant at the Friedrich-Ebert Foundation.

Marie is very excited to be the new Equalities Officer on the Young Fabians Executive. She has previously co chaired the Young Fabians Forum on international affairs and security and has organised several briefings and events. As Equalities officer, she wants to create a Young Fabians Women’s network to get more young women involved in politics and encourage them to stand for co options. She also wants to work with groups such as LGBT, BAME and MIND on issues of equality and wants to increase the diversity of the membership.
