Sara Ibrahim
Chair
Sara is a barrister working in the fields of employment and commercial law. This is her fourth year on the Young Fabian Executive. This year she will be building on the Young Fabians policy work at this key time for young people. She aims to ensure that the Young Fabians becomes a space for those under 31 on the left to exchange ideas about how young people can be protected from the negative effects of the economic downturn in the areas of housing, pensions, education and employment among others. She looks forward to working with other organisations within the Labour movement to help promote the work of the Young Fabians and to ensure that we can increase the scope of our projects over the year. Additionally, she will build stronger links with the Labour shadow team to help formulate a strong opposition to the coalition and a programme for government. She is also a contributor to Left Foot Forward and a member of the Labour Women’s Network executive. In her remaining spare time she is a school governor for a primary school in Camden and a trustee for a charity that focuses on the rehabilitation of offenders through education and obtaining employment. Please do get in touch if you have any ideas that you want to discuss with her for 2011-12.
