Brussels is at the heart of the European Union, with many European and international institutions based in its locality. Between the 24th and 25th of June the Foundation for Progressive European Studies, the eurofoundation for PES (of which the Fabian Society are members of) is hosting its flagship Call To Europe conference.

We would like to invite you to Call to Europe, our main annual event that gathers high level representatives from the academia, the policy making and the civil society to shape a common progressive approach to one specific issue.

Call to Europe V: Islam in Europe” will address recent developments in society which are increasingly challenging Europe’s basic, fundamental values, such as mutual respect, tolerance, freedom of speech, equal rights between genders, the secular state and the protection of minorities.

The Young Fabians International Network is organising a delegation led by Rebecca Carpenter. We will be arriving in Brussels on Tuesday night and staying until Saturday evening.

A provisional itinerary is outlined below.

  1. Tuesday 23rd June - Arrive in Brussels in evening
  2. Wednesday 24th June - FEPS Call To Europe Day 1
  3. Thursday 25th June - FEPS Call To Europe Day 2
  4. Friday 26th June - European Institutions Visit
  5. Saturday 27th June - Cultural Day and return home

You will be responsible for costs around travel, accommodation, food and any spending money. We are looking to co-ordinate this for the delegates. We expect costs to be around £250.
